World Book Day was at the beginning of March, when we were all in Lockdown. We decided to postpone this special day to today so we could all join in! You can see that the children dressed up in their favourite book characters.
Class of ’21
Our Year 6 pupils are delighted to receive their “2021 Leaver’s Hoodies” a little earlier than expected. They all look too cool for school in their must-have school uniform.
A Poem of Hope
Year 5&6 pupils have been writing poems about lockdown and their return to school.

Merry Christmas from Hedworth Lane Choir!
The choir has enjoyed getting together to sing their favourite Christmas songs, despite the lack of performance opportunities this year – they really are true professionals! The children chose two of their favourite songs to record for you to enjoy at home – ‘Rockin Around the Christmas Tree’ and ‘Midnight’, featuring our resident soloist, Matthew.
We know that Christmas will look very different for many of us this year but we hope these little videos will bring you some Christmas cheer! I’d like to send special thanks to our fabulous pianist, Andrew Richardson, who has provided much needed support during staff shortages and kept the choir singing every week.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful festive season and a less eventful 2021!

Maths Week England
Class 1 have worked so hard this week on their Times Tables and have managed to scrape themselves right up to the top of the MWE Rock Out 2020 league table from all the way down in second last place!
Furious last minute games have been going on all day in Years 5 and 6 to try and beat one another, but at the close of the school day… Class 1 has pipped the others to the post!
Will there be any last minute weekend warriors that can change the stats before the battle closes Saturday at 7.30pm? Or can another class come storming back through the charts…? Only times tables will tell
Anti-Bullying Week
This week is Anti-Bullying Week and the children will be all encouraged to make good choices when behaving or standing up to bullying.

Keeping Your Child Safe on Bonfire Night
As children get older they naturally gain more freedoms like going out with their friends after school. Keeping them safe is every parent’s priority. This is not easy when Bonfire Night approaches. Fireworks in particular are on sale throughout October, November and December. Please see the link below for information to help you keep your child safe this November and beyond.
