World Book Day (a little late but super fun!)

1st April 2021A Gill

World Book Day was at the beginning of March, when we were all in Lockdown. We decided to postpone this special day to today so we could all join in! You can see that the children dressed up in their favourite book characters.

Year 6 Leaving?… Not Yet!

30th March 2021A Gill

Class of ’21

Our Year 6 pupils are delighted to receive their “2021 Leaver’s Hoodies” a little earlier than expected. They all look too cool for school in their must-have school uniform.

The School Choir at Christmas

10th December 2020info info

Merry Christmas from Hedworth Lane Choir!

The choir has enjoyed getting together to sing their favourite Christmas songs, despite the lack of performance opportunities this year – they really are true professionals! The children chose two of their favourite songs to record for you to enjoy at home – ‘Rockin Around the Christmas Tree’ and ‘Midnight’, featuring our resident soloist, Matthew.

We know that Christmas will look very different for many of us this year but we hope these little videos will bring you some Christmas cheer! I’d like to send special thanks to our fabulous pianist, Andrew Richardson, who has provided much needed support during staff shortages and kept the choir singing every week.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful festive season and a less eventful 2021!

Miss Jago

Maths Week England

16th November 2020A Gill

Maths Week England

Class 1 have worked so hard this week on their Times Tables and have managed to scrape themselves right up to the top of the MWE Rock Out 2020 league table from all the way down in second last place!

Furious last minute games have been going on all day in Years 5 and 6 to try and beat one another, but at the close of the school day… Class 1 has pipped the others to the post!

Will there be any last minute weekend warriors that can change the stats before the battle closes Saturday at 7.30pm? Or can another class come storming back through the charts…? Only times tables will tell

13th November 2020A Gill

Children in Need Day 2020

We enjoyed a fun day, dressing up as Pudsey. Can you count the spots?

The school community prides itself on the range charity giving and generosity of the school families in the money we raise across the year. Every year we support a number of local, national and international charities. We see this as an important element of our spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of the children.

Autumn Term:

Jeans for Genes Day, Wear it Pink Day, Harvest – Supporting The People’s Kitchen and The Key Project, The British Legion, Children in Need and Operation Christmas Child.

Spring Term:

Comic Relief and Sport Relief, Sign 2 Sing, Easter Eggs to The People’s Kitchen.

Summer Term:

Shades for the Day, Turn on the Tap.
