This is the page for Hedworth Lane Primary School’s Eco Council. We meet every Friday lunchtime at 12.45 in Class 8. We look forward to sharing with you all of the amazing things we are doing to reduce the school’s environmental impact and make our local area a  better, greener place.

Eco-Schools news

No-mow May come to fruition!

Another one for the window sill until they become more established.

This week, we have been starting leek sets in the raised bed. I wonder when they will be ready to eat?

We think reception must have “green fingers”! Their carrots are doing better than ours!

Beetroot, courgettes, cucumbers, carrots and pumpkins! We are so proud of how they are growing even if the slugs have had a little nibble!

We decided to bring the tomato plants inside after the terrible weather we have been having! They are happier on Miss Wilson’s windowsill for now!

Seeing how the sensory part of the raised bed is getting on. They are blooming despite all of the rain!

Eco Council have been using our water butts to water the raised beds in the school garden. It is better for the environment and handy to use!
