Earlier this week, the whole school took part in Positive Noticing Day, a celebration all about recognising the good in ourselves and others, taking time to see and appreciate the positive qualities, efforts and talents in everyone.
The day’s goal was to encourage a culture of positive recognition and to acknowledge and appreciate the positive actions of others, helping to build kindness and connection across our school. We started by asking our pupils to reflect on moments when they had been positively noticed: How did it make you feel? What difference did it make in your life? Has anyone ever noticed a special talent of yours?
Children and staff shared thoughtful and heart warming reflections about times they felt valued, important and motivated by the kindness of others. We had planned for each child to write just one positive message, but they were so inspired and enthusiastic that they ended up writing many more! The staff were also very touched to receive many positive messages, which brought smiles to their faces. It was a joy to read the uplifting messages pupils wrote for one another and even more wonderful to see every child proudly wearing their positive notes throughout the day. We hope you enjoyed reading them, too.
