Year 6 children are leaving a legacy at Hedworth Lane. The children have planted daffodil bulbs along the school field. They are all looking forward to seeing them flower year on year, having a lasting impact for all the children of the school and members of our school community for years to come. Watch out for the bulbs coming into bloom in the coming spring.
Thank you to the parents who voted for us to win a Yoga session for the children to celebrate World Mental Health Day. The children had a great time.
Last week we recognised Kindness Week by taking part in a whole school assembly. We then tried our best to spread kindness to others throughout the week. We took part in an activity in our classes, where we drew around our hands then our friends wrote kind things about us on each finger. This made sure we were passing kindness to each other.
This term, Class 2 are developing their understanding of pneumatics. Here they have been making boxes “talk” using syringes, tubing and balloons.
Children in class 2 have been busy preparing for the summer fair. They are looking forward to selling their creations. Come along to see what they have made.
Class 2 have had a lovely time celebrating VE Day. We shared family photos, remembered a local hero (Jarra Jim) and enjoyed a picnic on the field.
