Mrs Sanderson and Miss Wilson kept us all entertained this morning as we had out first Reading For Pleasure assembly. They were ably assisted by a range of animal creatures as we enjoyed Julia Donaldson’s “The Smartest Giant”, and we even were treated to a song!

KS1 visited the local church as part of their Religious Education topic. Children have been learning about Christianity and what Christians believe. They have been learning about churches and some of the ceremonies which take place within them. Reverend Paul showed the children around the church and they had the chance to look at the things they had been learning about in class. Children loved listening to Reverend Paul explaining about Baptism and they even helped him to pretend to Baptise a teddy! They enjoyed looking at the Reverend Paul’s special bible and he told them all about sharing the bread and wine and what it stands for.
It was lovely to see so many of our pupils taking part in this morning’s act of Remembrance. They represented our school brilliantly!
Our hall became a terrifying pumpkin patch this morning as children brought in their carved creations to share. The designs were superb and all of the children spoke about how much they had enjoyed doing their ‘harvest homework’ with their grown ups at home.
