The children have been learning a lot in their French lessons. They have learnt about vocabulary linked to colours and shapes. They have also learnt where to place size and colour adjectives in a French sentence and that feminine nouns must have adjectival agreement.

Mrs Wakinshaw’s maths class worked very hard using their problem solving and reasoning skills to ‘clock’ the time challenge they had been set. Everyone was successful. Well done on great collaborative and teamwork skills!
On Tuesday, Year 1 attended a fun tennis tournament at Boldon School. with Coach4All. It was super to put into practice the skills that we have been learning with our tennis coach, Hannah all of this half term. They were excellent sports and had a good try of all of the activities showing real determination and team spirit. Can you see us trying a “slingshot” or using the “Nike tick” stance to throw the ball? They all won medals for their efforts and have been invited to free taster Tennis Sessions at Boldon LTC. In computing lessons, Class 5 enjoyed working collaboratively in groups to build and program a carousel using Lego Education Spike coding software. Huge well done!
Our neighbourhood Police Officer, PC Adam Harrison came to visit our Reception children. He talked to the children about his role and how he helps people within the local community. He then showed the children the different equipment he needs for his job and of course his police car!

Class 5 have started putting their new art skills to good use. They have used different techniques to join and make a pinch pot as part of their prehistoric pots topic.
What an amazing time we all had at this year’s Halloween Disco! Thanks to Mrs Gibson and Mrs Slater for organising this and to all the parent helpers who made it such a success.

Year 5 and Year 6 were joined by Laura from Groundworks today. She led the children in using recycled and natural materials to make festive decorations. Pupils showed great creativity and created some beautiful items!
Class 5 have been enjoying their ‘First Access’ Ukulele sessions this term. They are learning to play Katie Perry’s Firework, practicing playing in unison, keeping the same rhythms and making sure their chords are in tune! A great job everyone!
