Children were delighted to start their new Computing Club here at Hedworth Lane today. All sorts was going on too! We built robots using the Lego Spike kits; we coded a game using the Scratch app and even the Micro:bits came out to play. We are really looking forward to working together over the coming weeks and sharing our expertise with one another. We are also looking forward to rolling out our brand new Chromebooks to the rest of the school and being ambassadors of the technology that we have, making sure that it is always looked after and kept in good shape for everyone to use. Exciting times ahead Hedworth Laners!
JOKE ALERT What did the computer have for his lunch?

ELKLAN was born out of a passion for supporting children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.
Early Years at Hedworth Lane Primary is in the process of becoming an accredited ELKLAN provider that supports the communication and language of all children.
Due to the dedication and hard work of the EYFS team, we are proud to be on the way to becoming a ‘communication friendly setting’. Our staff are now equipped with the knowledge, skills and strategies to create a setting that enhances and develops children’s communication, creating a rich learning environment for all and supporting children who have communication needs.
At Hedworth Lane Primary School, we value the importance of conversation between adults and children; giving them time to listen, respond and grow.

All of class 7 showed exceptional listening skills today. Well done Class 7!

Classes 1 and 2 were busy last week replying to our penpals in our partner schools. We received some beautiful postcards from the children at Dulwich College showing us their Chinese Zodiac artwork. The children in Year 5 and 6 also made Easter cards to send to Good Samaritan School in Uganda, Dulwich College in Singapore and Ecole Elementaire Anatole in France.
