Bake Sale Total

18th March 2024Claire Hutchinson

We are thrilled to announce that the SSOC Crew’s Bake Sale on Friday raised a phenomenal £900!

We are sending some of the money raised to our partner school in Uganda. Today the Head Teacher of the school contacted us to say that they were going to use the donation to purchase a new computer and printer!  Mr Ssennyama, the Head Teacher, said:

“Thank you so much for all your effort and resources you invested into making an amazing bake sale. Please also extend our thanks to the children who responded positively and your lovely parents for their generous contribution towards the purchase of a new computer!”

The remaining money will be used to purchase resources for our OPAL playtimes – the SSOC Crew and OPAL Ambassadors will be looking to see what else we can include on our yards to make lunchtimes entertaining.

Thank you again for all your generous donations.

Lego League Champions 🏆

6th March 2024Michelle Watson

Lego League club have worked their socks off during Spring term to come up with an innovative idea for the FLL 2024 competition and today all of their hard work paid off ! The mission was to imagine new ways to create and communicate art across the globe and their idea of making reading accessible to all certainly delivered. We used all of the senses to re imagine the Harry Potter series where you can immerse yourself in the story. The children brought the book to life for the judges helping them to see, touch, hear. smell and even taste the story. The judges said that Hedworth Lane’s idea stood out from the rest and The Lego Hedz walked away with a well deserved trophy on the day. Huge well done everybody! You have made your school very proud 🥇
