Year 3 and 4 have enjoyed being pizza chef’s in their Design Technology lessons this half term.

Class 4 completed the second part of their Lego build this week. They worked in groups to follow the instructions carefully and create a stage for their mini figures. The groups then set a scene on the stage. We talked about careers in stage production and the various roles from stage management to performing to lighting. The groups worked together brilliantly!
Class 6 have thoroughly enjoyed creating their own pizzas in school this week. They thought carefully about their design by considering the flavours and toppings that contribute to a balanced diet.
KS1’s Art topics this term have been ‘Mix It Up’ and ‘Funny Faces and Fabulous Features’. Today the 3 classes showcased their Art books in a class gallery and took turns visiting each other’s galleries. Children had the opportunity to showcase their work, share their knowledge and provide valuable feedback to their friends.
In our computing lessons, we have been working collaboratively to build a model. This was the first step in our build and we can’t wait to see how they turn out as we add more each week. Watch this space for updates!
We had a lovely time last week when our grown ups came and took part in a phonics lesson with us! They learned all about how we are learning to read and they were very impressed!
Stone Age? More like the Ice Age! Still, a bit of snow did not put Class 4 off when they travelled back in time to become Stone Age settlers. They worked together to build and decorate their own shelters before working together to make and bake bread on an open fire. What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon!

Class 6 enjoyed a snowy Stone Age adventure. Luckily the cold spurred them on to make effective shelters! Rosy cheeks and smiles all round!
Class 2 had an amazing time taking part in the VR workshops.
Our topic in Science this half term is Earth and Space. The workshop took them on a journey through space.
The following information about the workshop is taken from the Education Group website:
Every child in the class becomes an astronaut
Virtual Reality transports you to places you cannot easily visit. The whole class simultaneously blasts off into space, piloting their research vessels around planets and moons, learning about the solar system.
