Thank you!
I would like to say thank you for all of your cards, gifts and kind words this week. I have been overwhelmed by your generosity. I have loved my time at Hedworth Lane and it has been a privilege to teach so many fantastic children there. I will miss everyone but know that Class 4 will continue to work hard and achieve great things with Mr Armstrong. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and wish you health and happiness in 2024.
With love and best wishes,
Miss Jago
Christmas has started!
Class 4 enjoyed some festive activities in our final week at school before the Christmas holidays. We created calendars and cards and took part in an online Christmas quiz with The Word in South Shields. We scored a respectable 25/30, coming 24th out of 81 schools who took part in South Tyneside. Topped off with Christmas karaoke, we left on Friday feeling very festive! Merry Christmas, Class 4!
The Long Wait
In English, our focus was the John Lewis advert, The Long Wait, which sees a boy impatiently waiting for Christmas. Class 4 created their own sketches to show the boy’s emotions and his parent’s reactions.
Lego update!
Class 4 completed the second part of their Lego build yesterday. They worked in groups to follow the instructions carefully and create a stage for their mini figures. The groups then set a scene on the stage. We talked about careers in stage production and the various roles from stage management to performing to lighting. The groups worked together brilliantly!

Stone Age Workshop – December 2023
Stone Age? More like the Ice Age! Still, a bit of snow did not put Class 4 off when they travelled back in time to become Stone Age settlers. They worked together to build and decorate their own shelters before working together to make and bake bread on an open fire. What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon!

Lego!
In our computing lessons, we have been working collaboratively to build a model. This was the first step in our build and we can’t wait to see how they turn out as we add more each week. Watch this space for updates!

Children in Need 2023
Class 4 had a great day supporting Children in Need and it was lovely to see them all in their Pudsey gear! We completed the Joe Wickes ‘Bearpee’ challenge where they completed an impressive 1997 bearpees in just 10 minutes! Amazing effort, Class 4!
