To coincide with International Women’s Day, a record-breaking 465,000 girls from 5000 schools across England took part in the FA and Barclays’ third Biggest Ever Football Session on Friday, as part of the Let Girls Play campaign. Over 60 girls from our school joined the 465,000 girls taking part and had a fab time learning new skills, gaining confidence and of course having fun! #LetGirlsPlay

Class 7 had a fun afternoon reading Anthony Browne books. Children loved sharing the books with a friend and learning about all of the different characters by drawing and describing them. Some children particularly enjoyed spotting Anthony Browne’s clever use of hidden images and naming the stories they linked too. The children made a real effort with their book day character costumes and Mrs Sanderson and Miss Coulthard had great fun dressing up too! Thanks to some creative work at home, we now have some imaginative Reading Rocks to put in our Reading Corner! What a great day!

Our Reception children went on a special mission today to the local post box. The contents of their envelopes are top secret (but we know the grown ups will like receiving them).

Wow, Reception are doing so well ticking off the different challenges for their Spring Reading Challenge. Keep it up everyone!

Our girls represented our school brilliantly on Monday at the Year 5 and 6 Girls’ Football Cup at Washington Hub. The girls started the day with a win against Forest View but the competition was strong and they were unable to secure another win in their next 3 matches. Aman said the girls played amazingly as a team and kept on battling for the win. Well done girls.
