Year 6 enjoyed a celebratory ice cream this afternoon for all their hard work during SATs.
Year 5 & 6 Boys Football Team – Champions League Success!
We are delighted to share that our Year 5 and 6 boys football team finished third in the recent Mixed Champions League tournament!
Although the team had a slow start, they showed fantastic determination and resilience, finding their form in the second half of the competition and going on to win their final three matches in impressive style.
In addition to this success, the boys were also proudly presented with their trophy for winning the Newton League earlier this year – a well-deserved recognition of their hard work and teamwork throughout the season.
Well done to all the players involved – we are extremely proud of you!
Here are the winners of our VE Day potato competition! The arts council had a hard time deciding as we had so many amazing entries, however these were the final choices as our winners! Well done everybody!
Class 2 have had a lovely time celebrating VE Day. We shared family photos, remembered a local hero (Jarra Jim) and enjoyed a picnic on the field.

Last Wednesday morning, the School Sports Organising Crew took part in an exciting orienteering challenge at North Marine Park, turning the scenic coastal landscape into an adventure playground. Teams of students navigated checkpoints, tested their map-reading skills, and raced against the clock—all while building teamwork and having fun outdoors. A fantastic display of energy, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship!
Earlier this term, Year 5 and 6 had the opportunity to participate in the “Stronger Shores” workshop, part of a wider initiative aimed at strengthening British coastlines and communities in the face of flooding, coastal erosion, and climate change. The workshop provided valuable insights into the environmental challenges affecting our coastal areas and explored ways in which we can all play a role in building resilience. Students engaged in discussions about climate change, sustainability, and the importance of protecting our natural resources. They also made their own environmentally sustainable plastic!
KS1 have now finished their ‘Beach Hut’ topic in Design Technology. Today they took them outside to our sandpit to test the strength of their designs. Very fitting to have the sun shining too!

On Tuesday 1st April, Class 8, Class 9 and Class 7 went to West Boldon Lodge. They have been studying how plants grow in their recent topic, Plant Survival. The children’s new topic in science is Animal Survival and they are to study how invertebrates in microhabitats get food, water and shelter. There were four activities at the Lodge: pond dipping, minibeast hunt, lifecycles treasure hunt and seed bomb making and dispersal. Everyone had lots of fun.
The children have been writing their Trip Recount in English this week and they have also been doing a report on a particular minibeast of their choice.
We enjoyed working with partners to create some tricky yoga poses.
